AI Literacy Design Analyser

This tool will ask you to evaluate the design of your course by rating features of the design against 24 statements across 6 categories that relate to aspects of AI literacy. These statements are based on the following level 1 components af the AI Literacy Framework

Category table from the AI literacy framework
Please evaluate each statement using a 5 point slider that ranges from 0 (not covered at all) to 4 (this is a key aspect of the learning).

After you have finished evaluating your design, the application will display a chart showing how various AI literacies are currently operationalised into your course design.

It will then provide you with some suggestions as to how you might further develop the design using ideas from the AI Literacy framework.

To what extent does the course design enable students to recognise instances where AI is being used i.e., where they or others interact with AI systems in their learning, work context or personal time?

To what extent does the course design explore how AI is impacting society (related to the activity/course context)?

To what extent does the course design give learners an opportunity to discuss AI in the broader context of technological change?

To what extent does the course design give learners an opportunity to evaluate case studies of how AI has impacted different sectors?

To what extent does the course design explicitly introduce the different types of AI, rather than just focusing on, for example, only genAI?

To what extent does the course design help learners compare and contrast the main features of AI technologies, to help them understand which tool is best suited to a given context?

To what extent does the course design prepare learners to explain the ways data is used in different AI systems?

To what extent does the course design cover a range of ways users can interact with AI systems, including the use of Natural Language Processing (NLP)?

To what extent does the course design support learners to identify different ways that AI is being used within various applications and contexts?

To what extent does the course design ensure that learners understand the fundamental terminology of AI?
